Supporting Families in Crisis Through Therapeutic Wilderness Expedition Treatment Programs
Born January 12, 1977, Jason and the family moved to Anderson Township, Cincinnati, Ohio, that June. He graduated from Immaculate Heart Of Mary Parish School and moved on to Turpin High School. While at THS he began to climb with his friends Scott Ring and Brian McCormick. First they used the local indoor facilities. Once they moved outdoors many trips were made to the Red River Gorge.
The day after high school graduation in 1996 Jason boarded a bus to Colorado for a six-month job at Aspen Lodge, a dude ranch near Estes Park. Once there he climbed and hiked the Rockies along with another Turpin grad, Steve Scheper.
He returned home in time to start at Warren Wilson College, Asheville, NC, in January '97. But Colorado pulled and at semester end he was headed back. Jason transferred to Colorado State in Fort Collins and stayed a year. But the curriculum was not what he wanted so he transferred back to Warren Wilson.
While at WWC he became involved in the outreach programs and started working with kids. Over the next four years he would have four jobs working with kids in the outdoor setting:

On October 4th, 2001, while climbing in Squamish, BC, Jason suffered traumatic cerebral soft tissue damage from which he never woke. After nine days in intensive care he died on October 13, 2001.
